Got Tickets?

Mizzie and Carla of StellaShops.com show you how to dress for every type of show in Music City.
Since we’re both huge music lovers, it’s appropriate that we both ended up in Music City. June is a fantastic month to get out and experience the variety of music Nashville has to offer.
You’ll usually find us catching shows at the Ryman or Mercy Lounge, but we’ve been know to frequent the honky tonks on Broadway, too. All of this musical diversity begs the question, “What am I going to wear?”
Your Bonnaroo attire will no doubt differ from what you’d wear to Play, and what you’d wear to Play is not what you’d wear to Tootsie’s. We’ve put together our favorite looks for some of our favorite venues, and we hope it will give you some ideas of your own and help make that age-old question a little easier to answer.
Bonnaroo is reliably the four hottest — or wettest — days of June, so you need to be prepared for both. We channeled our inner Olsen Twins here: You’re definitely going to want a good pair of boots or a pair of wellies, and we’d throw a pair of Chucks, sunscreen and a good floppy hat into our giant cross-body bags.
We love a good honky tonk, so you never know when you’ll see us yeehawin’ at Layla’s, Robert’s or Tootsies. One thing is certain … there will be denim and boots involved.
We’re rock and rollers at heart and it doesn’t get much better than a rock show at Exit/In, Mercy Lounge or the Cannery. Doc Martens are back — all the models at London Fashion Week were wearing them — so don’t be afraid to rock ‘em if you got ‘em.
We have yet to meet someone who doesn’t love the Ryman. Coldplay called it “the best venue in the world,” and we couldn’t agree more (who’s going to Adele this month?). In a venue rich with history, you can take some dressier liberties here since you’re guaranteed to have a seat (even if you end up dancing all night).
Mizzie loves to get her groove on at Play, The 5 Spot or 12th & Porter, and Carla’s usually along for the ride. It will probably be hotter inside the club than outside, so breathable fabrics are best (No polyester! Ever!). Make sure your shoes are comfortable enough to dance the night away and durable enough to have drinks accidentally spilled on them (it’s an unfortunate hazard of the club scene).

Her Datebook

Dana Birdsong didn’t have time for a headache that day. The (then) 35-year-old lobbyist and advocate for the American College of Cardiology in Washington, D.C. had a meeting on Capitol Hill she couldn’t miss.
