The photo of this button pillow evoked a slight girlish squeal.  I think it's adorable and just the thing for giving seating a look that's really, well, buttoned up!  It's featured as a "how to" project on my fave site for craftsy artrepreneurs, Curbly. 

In all honesty, I shall never make this pillow-riffic project myself.  I'd be perfectly pleased to purchase one instead.  Nonetheless, if you're the DIY-type, I think this pillow would be 'sew' worth the effort!!!

Whenever Wynona Lurie, whose gardens I write about in this month's Home & Garden column, leaves a message on my home voicemail, the system cuts her off.  Her voice has a perfect sing-song tone that the system interprets to be the pushing of a button on the phone.  Invariably, she gets cut off mid-sentence, just as she's saying something kind or clever as she's known to do.  I'll call her back, and we just giggle.

I write about the gardens of Wynona Lurie in this month's Home & Garden column entitled "The Great Outdoors," but the real story is Wynona herself.  She's the brightest flower in her garden, with a life journey full of twists and turns that show she can truly bloom wherever she's planted.

Here's a website that's a new find for me:  www.curbly.com .  It's an online community for D-I-Y designer types, and thus far, I've found it to be a fun spot for smart, doable ideas.  In today's wacky world, I'm sure more of us are doing it ourselves.  Yet by now, we're quite spoiled about wanting it done right...practically and attractively!  Curbly seems to offer up a nice blend of "design it" and "do it".  Snappy Surfing, ladies!

Even homebodies can be concertgoers these days, thanks to "Concerts in Your Home."  

For the better part of a decade, I've been an Anthroapologist.  An Anthroapologist is one who indulges in delectably fashionable purchases at Anthropologie even when one's budget must be stretched to accommodate said purchases, evoking the need to apologize to oneself, to one's significant other, or to society in general for such unabashed consumerism.

Have I mentioned I love doing the HER Home column for HER Nashville, along with this handy-dandy blog?  Well, I do.  I heart it very much!  One reason for the love:  It's given me a virtual free-pass...ok, an excuse...to visit shops I'd previously driven by and wondered about.  Shopping = research.  Love it!

Ah, the season's underway!  'Tis the time of year to nibble refreshments whilst shopping for "one for her home, one for my home" goodies in some of our fine local home decor boutiques.
