My grandmother had eleven children.
ELEVEN.
Just thinking about it makes me want to take out my collection of cocktail shakers and make sure all the parts are working properly.
Yesterday, when it took me over an hour to herd two boys into their bathing suits and out to the car, I thought, imagine if there were nine more of them.
How would we ever leave the house?
How would we ever go shopping?
Or take a trip?
Or eat a meal?
Or get a wink of sleep?
How would we ever find foster homes for all of them?

I often find myself imagining worse case scenarios...about everything. When we were deciding on house plans I chose on an extra large closet just in case I had quintuplets. I figured I could always stick a couple of kids in there if I needed to.
