"...And the color of the year, 2010, is..."
Here it is, ladies and gents! Pantone Inc., the corporate proprietor of the definitive, universal color matching system, decrees Turquoise (specifically, 15-5519 TCX) is the hue that's in for Twenty-Ten.
They've tossed around phrases such as "inspired by water and sky," "protective talisman," "a color of deep compassion and healing," and "a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting" to give narrative to this chosen shade. And word is that Pantone has even captured this anointed color...as well as 2,999 others...in the eco-friendly Pantone paint line, produced in partnership with a Dutch manufacturer.
What do you think of this color of the year selection? Is it a hue that will spark your imagination and inspire your designs? Let me know what you think; make some noise about Turquoise!
