The Adventures of Nashville’s Zarna Surti: Pop Music Artist, Stylist & Writer
Her exotic name and Bollywood beauty will grab your attention, her singing will have you dancing, her fashion will have you inspired and her writing will have you wanting more!
Zarna's parents immigrated to Tennessee from Gujarati, India. She and her brother were born and raised in the Volunteer state and shared the unique experience of growing up within two very different cultures.
Creativity was encouraged in her family, especially as her Dad is an inventor. Zarna found a passion for music; singing and playing the piano. After graduating from Franklin Road Academy, she attended Berklee College of Music before finishing her Bachelors of Arts in Musical Vocals and Jazz at the University of Miami.
While singing in local clubs around Miami, Zarna was discovered and asked to audition as a back-up singer for major Latin pop star Richardo Montenaro’s 2009 South American tour. She was promptly hired, learned Spanish and after graduation, hit the road!
Over the next six months, she traveled all over South America, playing in huge arenas and sang in front of millions. “It was an amazing experience,” says Zarna.
After the tour ended, she moved back to Nashville to help out her family. She didn’t plan on staying, but found a creative group of friends and started pursuing another passion of hers, fashion. She created the blog Zarnasrunway.com and gained a following.
She was soon hired as a stylist for local celebrities, editorial fashion spreads and writer for magazines including, Vogue India, Nashville LifeStyles, Her Nashville and Her Great Stuff, a new national magazine launching this summer.
At the same time, combining her passions for music and fashion, this multi-talented, multi-tasker was writing songs and recording pop music. Industry insiders are excited for the April 24th release of Zarna’s energetic, dance-fueled debut EP, titled ‘Glamtronic.’ Her first single, ‘Runway,’ will have you wanting more.
Zarna’s music will be available via iTunes and her website: www.zarna.com. As a special treat, fans can download her EP for free the first week- so don’t miss out! Tour dates will be announced soon.
